Isn't it weird how my upload always hits its threshold? The worst upload I can remember was around 18Mbps. I plan on testing it more throughout the night.

Even though I'm still only getting about half of my download speed, these are great numbers for me. Just a reminder, my internet package is supposed to be 150 down, 20 up. With only the computer hardwired into the modem I ran a few tests at. To give the mediacomtoday speed test a fair comparison, I unplugged my router and turned it off, rebooted my modem and computer. I was asked to do some speed tests at and a few trace routes. Let me know what steps to take for testing and I'll do it. Let me know what info you want and I'll get it for you. I can't even get the 50Mbps I used to get with Mediacom! I really need some help. I generally notice sluggish performance while wirelessly using my computer, but always go test hard wired after limiting the other devices connected. Wireless: 4 mobile devices, three computers. My general device connections are as follows. I can't keep taking days off work to be at home waiting for a tech to come make zero difference. Honestly, I turn them down at this point. At this point, whenever I call Mediacom they are unable to help or explain the situation. Let me know if you want any wireless stats to help.
Wireless has the same issues only a bit worse. Just tonight I tested three straight times on using the same server: 68Mbps -> 31Mbps -> 15Mbps. Back-to-back tests can result in completely different speeds. Having my router connected to the modem and then computer wired to the router gets about the same results but have never seen the 80Mbps speed. A good test might get me 50Mbps, but I actually average a little under 20Mbps. With my current setup, I have never seen a speedtest better than 87Mbps while directly wired into my modem. I also put back in place my router which is a Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router, model WNDR3800.
WIRELESS INTERNET SPEED TEST MEDIACOM SERIES
Its a Zoom DOCSIS 3.0, model 5345 series 1112. I went out and purchased a different standalone modem. He said the Surfboard combos (my SBG6580) are nothing but junk. So the third tech came and right away pointed to my modem to be the issue without testing anything. Afterwards I continued to have the same issue. So they set another tech out to fix the signal where their service enters my area. The first appointment checked my components and found the signal to be weak at the Mediacom entrance point. The issues were apparent right away (I'm not getting into details now because this is no longer my modem). I went with the Arris (Motorola) SBG6580 modem/router combo. I decided to buy my own modem to save money and at the same time I upgraded to a higher speed, their 150Mbps package. Speeds and reliability weren't always great, but not bad enough to get upset about. I used to have their 50 Mbps package, rented a modem from them, and used my own wireless router. I have Mediacom internet service and over the past two months I've been having serious speed issues. I'm hoping someone can help me solve my ridiculous internet speed issues before all of my hair is gone. u/RoweDent created this awesome resource on network theory u/tht1kidd_ has created a suggestion post regarding information everyone needs to provide when asking a question about their network There have been some excellent guides written in this sub, and we're always looking for more!
